Brian Dunham
FOUNDER
Brian is an emerging founder, explorer, guide, and artist whose greatest passion is to weave elegant chrysalises for the evolution of human consciousness with a great journey embedded in the heart of the experience.
He is the founder of Evolutionary Journeys, a social enterprise startup that brought to life A Celebration of Sacred Convergence and A Prayer for the Sanctuary of the Sacred Headwaters, and migrates between the ecosystems of the Bay Area, Mt. Shasta, and Latin America.
In response to his love for our planet and the intertwined ecological and social justice crises facing humanity, Brian has made one unifying commitment to serve as his north star: the Regeneration of Life on Earth in One Generation - by the year 2050 when he turns 70 - and is calling in all allies who share the commitment to this dream.
Brian was blessed to spend his childhood hiking and camping with his family throughout the national parks of the US, a time that planted the seed of his love for the natural world and the majesty of the wilderness. He then began journeying around the globe during university: living in Spain, backpacking across Europe, studying in Cuba and Argentina, and falling in love with diverse cultures and ancient lands.
Brian carries the experience of working 15 years in client partnerships for leading companies in Silicon Valley and Hollywood, as well as earning an MBA from the University of California Berkeley. He embarked upon his first journey to the Peruvian Amazon in 2016 and this journey, in which he was seeking support from indigenous wisdom to heal from addiction and trauma, changed his life forever and created an unwavering devotion to the most biodiverse ecosystem in the entire world, the heart of our planet.
Since 2016, he has spent the last 8 years journeying extensively throughout South America, working with ancestral medicines in retreats and in solo ceremony, with a special focus on Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru. The principal intention of the journeys has been to learn from and support indigenous guardians in the Andes and the Amazon, and he is honored to have many close friends from those countries. His second family is his Ecuadorian family at Casa del Sol, the retreat center in the Andes mountains that hosted ACOSC, and the home of his teachers, Ximena Morales and Santiago Ayala. He is fluent in Spanish and feels most alive when exploring new lands and creating relationships of sacred reciprocity with the people and more than human kin of the local ecosystems.
Brian is a graduate of Coactive Coach Training, Marysia Miernokowski’s Apprenticeship to the Sacred Wild, Chloe Rain’s Wisdom of the Four Directions, and Pachama Alliance’s Game Changer Intensive training in evolutionary activism. His most sacred apprenticeship was living at the base of Mt. Shasta in 2021: spending each day in a prayer of rewilding and right relationship, learning from plant allies, studying the books of visionary elders such as Lynne Twist and Bill Plotkin, and communing with the rivers, lakes, and forests of this holy mountain that serves as the guardian of the sanctuary of the sacred headwaters.
He is a Stewardship Level supporter of Pachamama Alliance with a specific focus on the Alliance for the Sacred Headwaters, a visionary regenerative project founded on the principle of indigenous stewardship of the northwest Amazon. He is currently walking the initiatory path of the Turpo and Q’ero lineages of the high Peruvian Andes as well as learning and remembering the wisdom of his Celtic ancestors via The Order of the Bards, Ovates, and Druids.
He is married to Beiker Petaquero, his beloved husband from Venezuela, intuitive channel, and life partner for many epic adventures.
